ABC Creative Music have been working with Ghanaian Drummers and Dancers Akrowa UK for 4 years after meeting them in Ghana. They have already delivered many projects with us, we think they are FANTASTIC, and we have developed a package together that combines the best of what they do with what we do really well! So this is more than an unforgettable day of African drumming and dancing in your school – much more.

Innovative online video teaching of traditional drumming patterns using voice and body percussion, plus online step by step traditional dance lessons means that when Thomas and Adie arrive in your school all your students have had time to learn drumming and dancing at their own speed. The material is extremely easy for the teachers to deliver – they do not need to be confident drummers or dancers and you don’t need any drums. Wider global citizenship material through African childrens’ video diaries allows staff to build wider global citizenship learning around the project, and creative drumming and dancing elements encouraging self-expression and ‘freestyling’. These tried and thoroughly tested elements combine to add breadth and depth to the learning in this project making it something that is truly transformative.
This project is ideal for P5-7 classes and is fun, exciting, and makes children feel great and builds their confidence, and willingness to try new things, and be open to the wider world. It is very good for including boys and children with ASN. It is something that leaves children with memories they will never forget.
